About us

Baile Advisory Limited (“Baile” or “Baile Advisory”) is an Irish limited liability company incorporated in Ireland with registered number 826283 and registered office at 71 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2, D02 P593. Baile is the data controller for the personal data described below. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Baile, and “you” refers to any person accessing this website or contacting us.

What this policy covers

This policy explains what we do with personal data when you visit this website or get in touch with us. Our services are provided to corporates rather than to individuals. Where we act for a company, the personal data we handle is normally the contact and correspondence details of the people who work there.

What data we collect

If you use our contact form or email us, we collect what you choose to tell us: typically your name, your organisation, your email address, and whatever you write in your enquiry. If we act for your organisation, we hold the contact details and correspondence of the individuals involved, along with anything else you send us as part of the work. Our website records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. Some of this is necessary to run the site securely. The rest is analytics, and we only collect it if you agree: see “Cookies” below. We do not collect personal data from third parties.

What we use it for

What we doWhy we’re allowed to
Reply to your enquiry and discuss whether we can helpOur legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and developing client relationships
Progress and manage an advisory engagement with your organisationOur legitimate interest in delivering our services and managing our client relationships
Meet our accounting, tax and regulatory obligationsCompliance with legal obligations
Keep the website secure and working properlyOur legitimate interest in protecting our systems
Measure how the site is usedYour consent, given through our cookie banner

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered whether our interest is outweighed by your privacy. You can object to this processing at any time: see “Your rights” below.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data or share it for anyone else’s marketing. We do share it with the suppliers and advisers who help us run the business: our website host and IT support providers; our email and business software providers; our website analytics provider, where you have consented to analytics cookies, and our accountants, auditors, insurers and professional advisers, where relevant. These suppliers act on our instructions under written contracts and cannot use your data for their own purposes. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where we need to establish or defend a legal claim.

Where your data is held

Some of the providers we rely on are based outside the European Economic Area, or store data there. Where that happens, we make sure the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need to respond, and for up to twelve months afterwards in case you come back to us. Where an engagement follows, we keep the records for the life of the relationship and then for six years, which is the period our accounting, tax and professional obligations require.

Cookies

Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use two kinds. Essential cookies keep the site running and remember the cookie choice you made. The site doesn’t work properly without them, so they’re always on. They don’t require your consent and they don’t track you. Analytics cookies tell us how people use the site: which pages get read, how long visits last, whether anything is broken. This information is pseudonymised rather than anonymous, so we treat it as personal data. These cookies are off unless you switch them on. Nothing is measured until you do. You can accept or reject analytics cookies when you first arrive, and change your mind at any time through the cookie settings below. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working.

Your rights

You can ask us to: give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct anything that’s wrong, delete it, stop or limit what we’re doing with it, send it to you or another provider in a portable format, stop processing that relies on our legitimate interests. Where we rely on your consent (i.e. analytics cookies) you can withdraw it at any time, and that won’t affect anything done beforehand. Email enquiries@baileadvisory.ie and we’ll respond within one month. There’s no charge. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie. If you’re in the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Automated decisions

We don’t make decisions about you by automated means, and we don’t profile you.

Changes

We may revise this policy. The version in force is the one published on this page, and we’ll update the date at the top when it changes.
